You’ll open new children’s homes, shape how they run, embed quality from the start, and then hand over to a permanent manager once everything is performing exactly as it should.

Your responsibilities as Residential Development Manager as Compass Children’s Homes:
- Lead the full lifecycle of new homes from development through to successful opening
- Oversee property setup including redesign, build and fit-out against key milestones
- Manage the full registration process with the relevant regulatory body
- Run each home operationally post-opening to establish high standards and stability
- Ensure delivery of safe, structured and child-centred care aligned to policies
- Recruit, induct and transition a permanent manager and team before moving to the next project
What we’re looking for in a Residential Development Manager:
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare
- Proven track record of achieving strong Ofsted outcomes
- Level 5 qualification in Residential Leadership (or equivalent)
- Previous experience operating as a Registered Manager within children’s residential care
- Strong track record of achieving positive regulatory outcomes
- Experience leading new services, improvements or operational change
- Confidence managing registration processes and compliance requirements
Working hours: Full-time, flexibility required to support project delivery and home openings
