Looking for a Rehabilitation Support Worker role where you can make a real difference to someone’s everyday life?
We’re looking for a caring, enthusiastic and experienced Rehabilitation Support Worker to work with a friendly male client with an acquired brain injury. You’ll help him work towards his recovery goals, enjoy new experiences and make the most of life at home and in the local community.
From trips out and social activities to family visits and the occasional game of Bingo, this is a varied role where you can have a genuine impact.
The Role
As a Rehabilitation Support Worker, you’ll assist the client with daily living, mobility and personal care, while encouraging independence and helping him stay connected with the things he enjoys.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting mobility and access to the local community
- Helping with social activities, leisure pursuits and trips out
- Supporting personal care and daily living tasks
- Administering medication
- Providing encouragement and prompts where needed
- Supporting rehabilitation goals and following therapy programmes set by physiotherapists
The client enjoys attending Headway, visiting the Warm Hub and spending time with family. If you know the Barrow area and enjoy finding new activities for someone to try, even better!
About You
You’ll have previous experience as a Support Worker, a positive and practical approach, and a genuine interest in helping someone live as independently as possible.
You’ll also need:
- A full UK driving licence
- NVQ/Diploma Level 2 in Health and Social Care (or have equivalent experience e.g. completed year 1/level 4 of a recognised health profession degree course)
- The ability to complete a Disclosure and Barring Service check
- £15.00 per hour, depending on experience
- Full and part-time hours available
- Sleep shifts available
- Additional hours for annual leave cover
